Glulam Plant for the Kingdom of Bhutan

Preparations for the implementation of the engineered timber production line are well underway, and we are pleased to welcome representatives of the Royal Project Office to our company.
This ambitious project, under the patronage of His Majesty the King of Bhutan, is being developed in the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).
GMC is being established in Bhutan to create a vibrant economic hub in South Asia, with a vision of bringing economic prosperity in a mindful and sustainable manner.

“GMC will be established as a Special Administrative Region with independent policies, laws, and governance from the rest of the country, and we are therefore confident in its success,” explained Mr. Karma, Head of the Delegation. He continued: “With this project, we are blending Bhutanese values of spirituality, harmony with nature, and community vitality with innovation and commerce.”

GMC will build on the following core industries and sectors: health and wellness, education and knowledge, agri-tech and forestry, green energy and technology, finance and digital assets, aviation and logistics, spirituality and tourism.

“We are in the process of building the city using traditional, renewable natural materials, as our country is very rich in timber. We partnered with Ledinek because we wish to bring world-class, high-quality wood-processing technology to Bhutan, enabling us to make optimal use of our resources. I would also like to emphasize that when we first began working with you, it was a business exchange, but over time it has grown into a friendship and exemplary collaboration. Your culture of support and understanding is very important to us, and we truly appreciate your trust and assistance in our project. In the future, we hope to further expand our cooperation, as we see great potential for export in this green industry.”
