Finger jointed timber
A manufacturing process of interlocking two shorter pieces of wood end to end to create a longer piece of dimensional lumber or molding. The joint is made up of interlocking fingers of wood, bonded together with an adhesive. Fingers are angled and may be cut parallel to either the wide or narrow face of the piece. |
