The innovative spirit of our company and numerous groundbreaking details of the existing Kontizink and Eurozink finger jointing lines convinced the managers of US based Louisiana Pacific Corporation (Nashville, Tennessee) to entrust LEDINEK with the development and manufacture of the first finger jointing line with horizontal joints for OSB. |

| In short eleven months, following the handshake at the Ligna 2007, we have developed, built, tested, prepared for transport and shipped in 12 containers a new finger jointing line. Our proven concept of continuous processing based around the unique Kontizink roll press was redefined with an entirely new milling units and a cross cut saw. Patterned boards of thickness between 19 and 25 mm are finger jointed with a best possible tolerance on the patterned side which must not be damaged during the production process. Even for our ingenious designers the handling of such a delicate material was a challenge. Some house own detailed work was necessary to achieve a result which we are proud of: a finger jointing line producing 20 horizontal joints at 80 m per minute with OSB. Same construction can be used for production of up to 40 joints at max. 150 m per minute with constructional timber which is easier to handle. |

The new milling units are a masterpiece of simplicity and reliability. Boards are fed into the main feeding chain and then transported, aligned, clamped, cut, milled… in a continuous flow without any stops. A constant cooperation and communication between Ledinek and a customer was necessary to provide the machinery with characteristics that could meet the requirements of the special product. This cooperation showed to be extremely important when tools and type of glue had to be chosen, a point crucial for the success of the entire line. The combined rolls and chain feeding system of the robust joint assembly track enables smooth and gentle handling of boards before entering the robust press. Our Kontizink press was a milestone of efficiency and productivity as it was presented at the beginning of the century and after seven years of service to this date it remains an unrivalled showpiece of our innovative engineering. The newly added enhancements only made it more powerful and even simpler for use. Only one dual roll pair of the continuous press can produce a force equivalent to almost 7 tons. Another centerpiece of the new finger jointing line is a new cross cut saw. 10 cuts per minute, 2,4 meter of minimum length and 80 meters per minute of maximum speed are the basic parameters that had to be met, thereby achieving a tolerance of 0,2%! |

The entire line was assembled to the last unit and tested in our new assembly hall, which was opened only 3 months prior to trial run. In only 2 weeks after the test, the line was disassembled and shipped to Two Harbors (Minnesota, USA), followed by a group of Ledinek technicians that have reassembled the line. The line produces an exterior trim product in all popular US dimensions, and has proven to be able to adapt to all conditions.
We are proud that after long months of hard work and effort Louisiana Pacific Corporation became another satisfied LEDINEK customer. With their entrepreneurship and our innovative spirit we have managed to create a new product that will shape a new generation of high-capacity finger jointing lines for production of boards and beams with horizontally oriented joints. |
